Evidence. Expertise. Execution.

Material performance and ground conditions influence every stage of a civil engineering project. ProCivils combines laboratory testing with field verification to help engineers and contractors assess suitability, interpret site conditions and make acceptance decisions against the project specification.

Testing programmes are tailored to the material source, specification and acceptance requirements. Results and observations provide an evidence base for material selection, foundation decisions, drainage planning and construction control.

01

Geotechnical & field testing

Understand ground behaviour and verify conditions on site. Investigation and field measurements support bearing-capacity interpretation, compaction decisions and drainage or wastewater suitability assessments.

  • Standard Penetration Testing coordination and Dynamic Cone Penetrometer assessment
  • Bearing-capacity assessment, CBR correlations and ground-condition interpretation
  • In-situ infiltration and percolation testing for soakaway and septic-system suitability
  • Drainage recommendations, formal test reporting and site observations supporting wastewater design
  • Non-nuclear field density, sand replacement and Modified AASHTO compaction testing
02

Soils & aggregates

Establish grading, plasticity, strength and compaction characteristics to support material selection and the assessment of earthworks and pavement layers.

  • Sieve analysis and grading
  • Atterberg limits and plasticity classification
  • California Bearing Ratio and moisture-density relationships
  • Unconfined compression testing
03

Concrete & masonry

Assess fresh-concrete workability and hardened-concrete strength. Sample preparation, curing and verification support construction checks and interpretation against the required concrete specification.

  • On-site cube casting, curing and compressive-strength testing
  • Slump and workability testing
  • Non-destructive rebound-hammer testing
  • Concrete mix-design support
04

Rock testing

Assess strength, absorption and related rock properties for engineering interpretation and material-suitability decisions.

  • Rockwell and point-load assessment
  • Unconfined and rock-core compression testing
  • Absorption and indirect tensile-strength testing
05

Asphalt & bituminous binders

Verify binder and mix characteristics, surfacing controls and surface texture in relation to road-project requirements.

  • Bitumen penetration testing
  • Marshall stability and flow
  • Sand-patch surface-texture testing
  • Hot-mix Marshall slurry design and surfacing aggregate and binder controls

How we work

A clear path from brief to outcome.

  1. Agree the investigation or testing scope and acceptance requirements.
  2. Coordinate site observations, field tests and sample collection.
  3. Complete the agreed tests and interpret findings in context.
  4. Provide traceable results and discuss the engineering implications.
